Description
Modro Jezero Blue Lake is a karst lake with a length of 800 m and a width of 400 m. It is located in the Imotski Land near the border of Bosnia and Herzegovina the road from Split to Mostar. The waters of Lake Modra sparkle with the colors of turquoise and aquamarine, while the water level rises or falls depending on the season. The lake often dries up, and its bottom then serves as a football pitch. Crveno Jezero Red Lake is the deepest karst lake in Europe, and the third-largest karst funnel in the world. It has its name from iron oxide, which causes the red-brown color of cliff rocks. The water is at a depth of about 300 m, and its the bottom is below sea level.
