The suits of armor Tachido tosei gusoku are from the Momoyama period c.1580 to Edo period c.1850 and are made of iron, laquer, gold, bronze, copper, lacing, and bear fur. The horse tack is called Bagu. Samurai were the elite military class of preindustrial Japan who controlled the country for almost a millennium.
