Title
The Avakas Gorge in the Mediterranean island of Cyprus #120340327
Description
The huge and crumbling sandstone cliffs of the Avakas Gorge are to be found in the Akamas region of south-western Cyprus. It is vital to check the weather before entering the long and narrow gorge as the ravine is prone to flash flooding. There would be no escape in this case. The gorge entrance starts at the beach and passes near banana plantations and olive groves. There are flocks of wild goats, some of which wander into the gorge.
