Description
Based on an original fountain in Rome from the 1580`s, this copy was made in the early 1900`s and bought by the Crocker family for their Hillsborough estate. When that estate was sold, the fountain was donated to the city of San Francisco. Over time, the four turtles from this fountain were stolen, and these are replicas from the fountain at the Ringling Brothers Circus headquarters in Sarasota, Florida, for restoration done in 1984.
