Next to the orange facade are decorated columns and restored outside. In 1965 the museum opened its doors as a museum of the USSR Navy in the building of the former English club on the street. Lanzheronovskaya, 6, in a building built in 1842 by architect Gregorio Torricelli. In 2005 he destroyed many exhibits. In 2015 and 2016 there were two more fires.
