Cape Otway Lighthouse #120620484
Description
Great ocean Road trip. The lighthouse was built in the 1850âââ‰â¢s in response to significant loss of life in shipwrecks along the southern coast, particularly in the area of The Twelve Apostles. The light station consists of a number of buildings that housed the light keeperâââ‰â¢s family, stock, telegraph station and work sheds. Climbing to the light deck provides a panoramic view of ocean and coast. On wilder days you can sometimes see the clashing currents that Apollo Bay fishermen call âââ¬ÃÅthe mad mileâââ‰â¢.
