Description
The San Francisco Chronicle newspaper has been at 5th and Mission Streets since 1924. At the time they moved in, there was not much there, do to the earthquake of 1906. The paper was started in 1865 when the brothers William and M.H. DeYoung borrowed a $20.00 gold piece, that they had to repay with in the week. By comparison, this building in 1924 cost $1.75 Million. Everything was done right here, and they got the job done.
