Description
Thasos, Thassos, - a Greek island in the north of the Aegean Sea, located just 8 km from the coast of Thrace. With an area of 390 kmò, it is the ninth largest island of Greece. Its highest peak is the Ipsarion mountain with a height of 1204 m above sea level. Around the main island are three islands: Tasopulo in the north, Kinira in the east and Panajia in the south. Thassos is one of the less commercialized Greek islands, thanks to which it has preserved its natural character. There are no tourist crowds like in Rhodes or Crete. There are, however, the turquoise sea, sandy beaches, mountains, beautiful uncontaminated nature and over five thousand years of history. The island is perfect for relaxation for those who like to spend their holidays away from the crowds, but in an interesting area, as well as for family holidays or romantic stay for two. You can completely lose yourself in sunbathing, hiking around the area, tasting Greek cuisine and wine and admiring the fabulous sunsets, as well as in romantic walks by the moonlight. The entire island has excellent conditions for water sports: windsurfing, diving, sailing, boat trips along the coast and fishing. You can also explore the island on foot, by bike, scooter or car.
