Gompa Village,Ladakh Stock Image

The little traditional villages of Gompa, at around 3800m altitude near Leh the capital of Ladakh (Indian Himalayas) at the end of winter. Ladakh is a high altitude desert where agriculture is only possible with irrigation. In April the barren feilds are irrigated for the first time and the manure is being carted onto the fields and the barley is sown. This picture is taken mid April, just before the arrival of spring.
