Description
Leafy perennial herb, Italian Alps, mid-August. Rumex alpinus is a perennial plant. Can reach a height of 60 to 200 centimetres, with leaves very large. The flowers are arranged in much-branched, the fruits are brown, three-sided achenes. The flowers bloom from June to August. This species prefers high-altitude environments rich in nitrates, is commonly found near mountain pastures, uncultivated places between 1300 and 2300 m 4,300 to 7,900 ft above sea level.
