Salak scientifically called Salacca zalacca is a fruit native to south Sumatra and southwest Java as well as other parts of the world and belongs to the Arecaceae family. Salak Gula Pasir, Salak Bali and Salak Yogyakarta are few of the most popular varieties of Salak fruit that is grown worldwide because of its delightful taste and wonderful appearance.
