Title
A pair of limes on the tree surrounded by leaves. #123980207
Description
Like lemons, limes are a very rich source of vitamin C, which is important for the prevention of scurvy. Because early sailors had a hard time getting fresh fruits, scurvy was a constant problem. When the Britsh navy realized the importance of citrus for the prevention of scurvy, they were given the fruits, as a special secret. British sailors got the nickname `Limey` for their early use of limes out at sea.
