Description
Mass of male Horseshoe Crabs surrounding a female on the beach of Kitts Hummock, Delaware. Males are smaller than females. Limulus polyphemus gathering Tne only time they come ashore is in the spring to procreate. The males attach themselves to the females using a special claw. The female drags the sperm filled males over the eggs she lays in the sand. Then they return to their watery depths.
