This cave at Bet Guvrin was used as a burial chamber by a family of Phoenician traders from Sidon that settled in southern Judea after Alexander the Greatââ¬â¢s conquests 332 BC. Their leaser was apparently Apollophanes, according to an inscription on the walls. The details on the wall have been recreated
