Description
Ruin of the Wat Phia Wat temple with damaged Buddha statue. Templeââ¬â¢s brick foundation and a few columns survive. Only Buddha image in Phonsavan area that survived US carpet bombing during the Vietnam war. Constructed around 1322, severely damaged by; Chinese in 1400s, French during the first Indochina War, and finally by Americans in 1966.
