Zadar is the economic and cultural center of northern Dalmatia and is the fifth largest city in Croatia. Zadar is rich with many interesting monuments, including remains of buildings built by the Romans, when Zadar was under their rule. Such remains include the Roman column located next to the baroque church of St. George from the 17th century Simeon.
