The European brown bear Ursus arctor arctos is a subspecies of the brown bear Ursus arctos. The natural resources are all of Europe, European Russia, the Urals and Western Siberia. Because of hunting in the past centuries, the populations are very depleted. Wild animals can still be found in the Cantabrian Mountains in northern Spain, in the Pyrenees, in southern Scandinavia, in Abruzzo in central Italy, in northern Italy and in Austria.
