Sun shining on the Staubbach fall Berner Oberland, Switzerland #126758679
Description
Picture is taken when walking in the Lauterbrunnen Valley in september. Lauterbrunnen is a municipality in the canton of Bern in Switzerland and lies at the bottom of the Lauterbrunnen valley. It is one of the deepest in the Alpine chain. It also contains the famous Staubbach, Reichenbach and Trummelbach falls. Fans of Sherlock Holmes will probably have heard of Reichenbach Falls, the place where the detective has his final meeting with his enemy Moriarty. Also Tolkien hiked from Interlaken to the Lauterbrunnen Valley on a trip to the continent in 1911. The landscape provided him the concept for his sketches of the valley of Rivendell, famous of his Lord of the Rings trilogy.
