Description
The Kleine Scheidegg is a mountain pass 2,061 metre, situated below and between the Eiger and Laubhorn in the Bernese Oberland. The name means minor watershed. The pass is traversed by a walking trail and the Wengneralp railway, which connects the villages of Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald. At the summit of the pass is the Kleine Scheidegg Railway station. It is also a lower point of the Jungfrau railway, which climbs through tunnels inside the Eiger and Monch up to the Jungfraujoch, the highest point in Europe reachable by rail.
