A reenactor dressed as a Roman Centurion of the Augustus Eighth Legion - Legio VIII Augusta, Imperial Roman Army, from around 100 A.D. The Centurion holds a vitis - vine-stick, that was a symbol of the centurion`s authority and the implement with which he would mete out punishment. Seen at the M5 living History Show held in Spetchley Park, Worcestershire, England.
