The pyramid of Cestius is an ancient pyramid built as a tomb for Gaius Cestius. It stands at a fork between two roads and is incorporated into the city walls and is one of the best preserved ancient monument in Rome. it was built 18 -12 bc. It measures 37 metres high. It is built of brick faced concrete and covered with slabs of marble.
