Revitalized Boeddeker Park and Bountiful Blooms. #129345207
Description
This one-acre park originally opened in 1985, named for Father Alfred E. Boeddeker, the founder of St. Anthony`s Dining Room, a soup kitchen for the cities most needy. Situated right in the Tenderloin, the one neighborhood most densely packed and with the most number of children living below poverty, the park originally attracted drugs, gangs, and violence. After being shut down for safety concerns, it reopened in 2014, with some very attractive fencings to keep the gangs out and the children safe.
