When this 27 room home was built in 1912 for Adolph Spreckels, they first had to purchase some existing homes to get the desired views he wanted. At his wife Alma`s insistence, those homes had to be saved, and were moved else where. After both Adolph and Alma had died, the massive home was decided up into four separate units. Recently, it was purchased by romance novelists Danielle Steele, who had it reconverted back to the single family home, and added the privacy hedges.
