Montagarri Sanctuary is located in Val d´Aran, in the Catalan Pyrenees, Spain. Is the coldest village of Spain. The Sanctuary is a building built in 1117, although what today is visited is completely renovated. To access to the sanctuary there is a hiking route, a fairly comfortable forest trail about 12 km round trip. It leaves from the Plan de Beret, from one end of the car parks, and it is a very pleasant tour. In a natural environment of great beauty, the itinerary runs very close to the river Noguera Pallaresa, between forests of black pine and grass areas.
