Though in his late 70s, this witty and insightful multi-lingual walking tour guide proved amazingly agile and possessed uncanny physical endurance. He is a Berber gentleman and is fluent in Berber, Arabic, French, and English. The blue walls in the background are emblematic of Chefchaouen, Morocco, known as `the blue city.` It is thought the blue color was widely used by the Jews from Andalusia who were expelled from Spain in 1492 before emigrating to Morocco. It is also believed that the blue color is a naturally repellent to mosquitoes.
