Description
Red barn along hwy 197 in Western North Carolina. Why do red barns dot the country side? By the late 1700`s farmers started to paint their barns with a mixture of skimmed milk, lime and red iron oxide created a rusty-color. This was cheap, lasted longer, and farmers found it kept their barns warmer.
