Title
Pseudopecten equivalvis J. Sowerby, 1816 Lias Jura Germany #130272894
Description
916/5000 From the spinatum zone layers with Pleuroceras solar of Dreeke and from the stone of the spinatum zone lower hawskerense subzone and the calcareous sandstone bank of the upper hawskerense subzone of Ledde come moderately well preserved specimens, in shell form, number of ribs and course of comarginal growth lines agree well with Ps. Also their size is within the size spectrum of Ps. Equivalvis given by JOHNSON 1984 from the Upper Pliensbachian. The largest individuals measured in the field are about 16 cm long and 14 cm high. The specimens differ from the Ps. Equivalvis described above in the relatively wide and flat radial ribs relative to the interstices. These individuals are therefore made subject to Ps. Equivalvis. The differences in ornamentation may be due to strong abrasion of the rib surface.
