Closeup of Horseshoe crab eggs on beach along the tidal waters along Delaware Bay #131351392
Description
Horseshoe crab eggs line the coasts of Delaware and New Jersey along the Delaware Bay each year in the Spring. Shorebirds travel thousands of miles to feast upon the eggs. They come ashore from their watery depths to breed. Males cling to females who drag the males over their freshly laid eggs to inseminate or fertilize the eggs in the sand or waters
