Description
The old wall that surrounds the old Brasov City. Black Church in the background. Image at the blue hour. At the end of the fourteenth century, the enclosure rebuilt itself in stone. Gradually, however, the construction of the walls and bastions began, which led to the fame of Brasov until far as `the fortress of the seven bastions`. The walls were doubled and sometimes, on the north-eastern side, especially, triple, with ditches and waves of earth. Between the walls were the so-called `zwinger`, each mastered by a guild. Starting with the 15th century, under the supervision of King Sigismund of Luxembourg, the first fortifications of Brasov fortress were built.
