Description
The symbol of Morocco is the mosque of Hassan and its famous minaret `tower of Hassan` were laid by order of Sultan Yakub El Mansur, who is the founder of the city of Casablanca. He decided to build another wonder of the world ââ¬â a mosque, which should surpass the height of its Samara mosque in Iraq. Construction began in 1095. In 1199, the Sultan died,and the construction of the mosque was stopped, so of the planned 60 meters, the minaret tower ascended only 44. Near the mosque was built colonnade, which was destroyed during a strong earthquake in 1755.
