Title
A old olive tree in the Drôme Provençale, France #133445764
Description
The olive tree has moved inland to the valleys of the Eygues and Ouv̮̬ze, in the Baronnies, at the extreme limit of its culture to the north. There appeared the Tanche variety, the result of a long adaptation to a particular climate and terroir. Olives and Tanche oils were the first in France to benefit from an Appellation d`Origine Contr̮̫l̮̩e 1994 decrees. The olive tree contributes largely to the economy and the tourist attraction of Nyonsais and Baronnies. It has become the emblematic tree justifying the deep attachment that the inhabitants of the region have for it.
