Nobility of Time by Salvador Dali and The Gran Valira in Andorra la Vella, Principality of Andorra #133542210
Description
The Salvador Dali sculpture, the âââ¬ÃÅNobility of Timeâââ‰â¢ Spanish: Noblesse du Temps has been placed in Andorraâââ‰â¢s capital city, in the Piazza Rotonda Andorra la Vella. It was donated to the Andorran government by Enric Sabater, who was Daliâââ‰â¢s agent, collaborator and confident between 1968 and 1982. The stunning five meter high sculpture has been placed in the cityâââ‰â¢s most prestigious and historic square, in the towns oldest quarter which dates from the twelfth century. The bronze sculpture is one of the melted watch series of sculptures which was created by Dali to symbolise the passage of time. The soft melting watch is draped around a tree trunk; atop the watch face is a crown, synbolising timeâââ‰â¢s master over humanity. The sculpture is now the main artistic attraction in Andorra la Vella. The Gran Valira is the largest river in Andorra. It flows through the capital, Andorra la Vella, and exits the country in the south near the Spainâââ‰â¬ÅAndorra road border crossing. Andorra la Vella is the capital of the Principality of Andorra. It is located high in the east Pyrenees, between France and Spain. It is also the name of the parish that surrounds the capital.
