Description
This is the southern gateway to the city. It was designed in the first half of the 16th century by one of the architectural geniuses of the age, Michele Sanmicheli, who also left his mark on the palaces, churches, gateways and villas of Verona and its surroundings province. Porta Nuova stands at the entrance of Corso Porta Nuova, which offers a wonderful view of towers, hills and mountains in the background.
