Description
The fortified town of Mont-Dauphin, built by Vauban from 1693, is inscribed on UNESCOââ¬â¢s World Heritage list. Past its pink marble walls, there are the barracks where the soldiers of King Louis XIV lived, the bartizans where they were on watch, the powder store and the arsenal where they kept their guns. There is also the Church of Saint-Louis, which construction started in 1663 at the time of the creation of the fortified town.
