Description
Idalgashinna is a little town in the Badulla District, Uva Province, Sri Lanka.[1] Situated at a height of around 1,615 meters 5,299 ft above ocean level, it is situated in the Haputale-Namunukula mountain range.[1] The territory is home to the Idalgashinna Estate, with the nearest substantial town being Haputale, about 9km south on the railway.[2] Between the two areas lies the Thangamale Bird Sanctuary.[1] Education in the zone goes under the domain of the Welimada Divisional Secretariat, which regulates the Idalgashinna Tamil Vidyalaya Idalgashinna Tamil College, Beauvais Tamil Vidyalaya and the Ellethota Vidyalaya.[3] Idalgashinna was built up as a tea home in 1984, in spite of the fact that the region had seen disconnected times of settlement preceding this.[1][2] The Idalgashinna Pass is a conspicuous land highlight in the zone; Idalgashinna was viewed as a key access to the upland nation, with the Portuguese endeavoring to utilize the go in their wars against the Kingdom of Kandy in the sixteenth century.[1][4]
