Pictured is one of twenty statues on the fa̮̤ade of the Neue Burg or New Castle, part of the Hofburg Palace, Vienna, Austria. The statues were erected between 1895 and 1901 after a plan by the art historian, Albert Ilg. The Magister or Scholar by Edmund Hofmann of Aspernburg represents the Founding of the universities of Prague in 1348 and Vienna in 1365.
