The German quarter is located in the old part of the Leninsky district of the city of Magnitogorsk, located between the Ural street, Mendeleev street and Stroiteley street. After the war ended, a camp for German prisoners of war was built in the area. Despite their status, the Germans built very well, as for themselves, without allowing any deviations from the technology. The German quarter was erected by prisoners of war under the guidance of leading experts of the Magnito Stroy Trust under the designs of Soviet architects G. A. Simonov, E. A. Levinson and A. A. Ol. Each house was created on an individual project and not like the other. At the heart of the quarter is a two-story building, but there are also three-story houses. Stone trim, arched passages and architectural details are inspired by Western European motifs.
