French documentary Filmmmaker Claude Lanzmann engages a questioner at a special screening of his 9 and one-half hour epic documentary on the Holocaust, `Shoah.` The special screening was held at the Jerusalem Cinematheque in December, 1987. At the beginning, scores of Knesset Members Israeli Parliamentarians were present, including Shevach Weiss, a Holocaust survivor himself, was in attendance. The movie was first released in 1985. It contains no archival film. Interviews were done with survivors, witnesses, and former Nazis. In some cases the recorded material was done surreptitiously. Lanzmann died in Paris, France, on July 5, 2018 at the age of 93.
