Description
Pictured is a bronze statue of Pope Innocent XI by Hungarian sculptors Damko Jozsef and Walder Gyula. It is located in Budapest, Hungary, and photographed at night. On the front is his coat of arms and text reading: `Pope Innocent XI Savior of Hungary commemoration by the grateful nation 1686-1936. He was Pope from 1676 to 1689, and was the initiator of the Holy League who in 1683 hastened to the relief of Vienna which was being besieged by the Turks. He is holding a staff and wearing his tiara and under his feet is the Turkish standard.
