Description
Pictured is a close up of the coat of arms of De Rijp on The Town Hall of De Rijp, Netherlands. It is a former city hall. The government offices have moved, but the former waag and burgerzaal are still used for weddings and other official proceedings. The rest of the building is in use as the local visitor`s center of De Rijp. The building was designed and built by the architecht-engineer Jan Leeghwater in 1630. It is a Rijksmonument. The coat of arms has two herrings on the shield which symbolize the importance of the fishing industry for the town.
