Description
Corn silks - zea mays- maize; family poaceae, genus zea, species Z. mays. Corn silk, the elongated stigmas of female flowers. Emerges from husk leaves at the tip of the ear. They are often pale yellow, appear to be like tufts of hair. The silk is edible and can be made into tea. Reported to be of medicinal benefit for prostate and urinary inflammation, bladder infection, kidney stones.
