Sebangau River at Central Kalimantan Indonesia #138525669
Description
The Sebangau River at Central Kalimantan Indonesia has black water, a color that shows high tannin content. The content of tannins from organic materials such as twigs and wood dissolved in water, makes the water blackish brown. The content of tannins also makes this type of water feel stiff and somewhat bitter, unlike swamp water in general which feels fresh or brackish. No wonder indeed, because in the depths of one to 17 meters below the river there are peat swamps.
