Description
A single fully grown evergreen trees of the morinda citrifolia plant better known as noni tree. On the tries are both mature and unripe fruits. The unripe fruit has the color green as is the big elongated leaves. Outward, the fruit appears to be rough, having grooves and notches at the point where blossoms fell from. The leaves have several veins running angular and parallel to each other from the vertical mid rib, or main vein that runs from the petiole to the apex. Close to the margin each vein branches to join with the next forming a venous network. The raised network of veins produce an engraved appearance of the lamina. This fruit, of this tree is recognized in some regions as highly nutritional, or medicinal. It is of the Rubiaceae, family, Gentianales, order, and has many common names; some of which are great morinda, indian mulberry, noni, beach mulberry, canary wood, lada, nono, kura, wild pine, yor ban, duppy soursop, and cheese fruit or cheesefruit.
