Description
Palace Square in St. Petersburg is a place beloved by guests and residents of the city, the heart of the Northern capital. This is one of the most beautiful architectural ensembles of the world. The best Russian architects worked on its creation. It received its name from the name of the Winter Palace, designed by the architect FB Rastrelli in the mid 18th century. In 1819, on the instructions of Emperor Alexander I, architect K.I. Rossi developed a draft of a single architectural ensemble, glorifying the victory of Russian weapons in the 1812 war.
