Description
From its founding in 1649-1650, the Albazinsky fortress was a place of struggle for the territory between the Manchus and the Russians. It was repeatedly burned by the enemy and restored by the Russians. Albazinsky fortress is famous for the courage of generations of Russian defenders of the fortress, when they defended the fortress from the many times superior enemy forces. From the middle of the XIX century, the lands returned to Russia. The glorious history is presented in the exposition of the Albazin Museum of Local Lore. On its territory there is a tomb of defenders of the Albazinsky fortress and a six-meter cast-iron worship cross to the Cossacks.
