Description
Kikiny Chambers is an architectural monument of Petrovsky baroque located in St. Petersburg at 9, Stavropolskaya Street. This is the only preserved house of Admiral-Counselor and one of Peter I`s associates - Alexander Kikin Kikin also had a site in the center of the city, on the site of which the Winter Palace is now located. The house was built in 1714-1720 by an unknown architect presumably Andreas Schlüter not far from the resin yard. In 1718, Kikin was executed for organizing the escape from Russia of Tsarevich Alexei Petrovich, and his house was taken to the treasury.
