Title
The curiously shaped Blackchurch Rock, Hartland peninsular, Devon. #141379070
Description
The tide has receded and the winter sun gives a different kind of view of Blackchurch rock, which is a folded arch sea stack, thought to have formed around 300 million years ago in the upper carboniferous period. It consists of sandstone, mudstone and shale. Striated sandstone ridges can be seen leading toward the rock.
