The city walls and The Cracow Gate, Szydlow, Poland #143147336
Description
There were three gates guarding access to the city at SzydÃ
âów. Only one has survived to this day. The Cracow Gate is one of the most valuable examples of the medieval defence system. The main structure of the gate comes from the 14th century. Upper storeys were rebuilt in the Renaissance style at the beginning of the 16th century, when added an attic and two round turrets on the top.
