Title
Mistletoe, Viscum album, on a birch in the autumn #143306117
Description
The white-berry mistletoe is a sandalwood plant that lives as a parasite on a host plant. From branches and trunks of other woody plants it extracts water with the nutrient salts dissolved in it. Mistletoes grow very slowly and can live up to 70 years. In medicine, mistletoe preparations are used in cancer therapy to inhibit tumour growth.
