Three people playing cards in the dense forest, HangzhouLingyin Temple, also known as Yunlin Temple, is located in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, with its north peak facing Feilaifeng. It was built in Xianhe, the first year of the Eastern Jin Dynasty 326 years, covering an area of about 87,000 square meters. The ancestor of Lingyin Temple was Huili and Shang, a monk of West India. In the Southern Dynasty, Emperor Liang Wudi granted farmland and expanded it. Qian Si, king of Wu and Yue in the Five Dynasties, asked Yongming Master Yanshou to rebuild and open up, and gave the name Lingyin New Temple. During the Jiading reign of Song Ning Zong, Lingyin Temple was known as one of the `five mountains` of Zen in the south of the Yangtze River. During the reign of Shunzhi in the Qing Dynasty, Buddhist monks with virtue lived in Lingyin and raised funds to rebuild the palace, which lasted for 18 years. Its magnificent scale leaped to the top of the southeast. In the 28th year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty 1689, Emperor Kangxi was named `Yunlin Zen Temple` during his Southern Tour.
